Football fans, listen up! And you too, folks who go shopping when you hear the theme song Monday Night Football. The Buffalo Bills do more than just touchdowns!
Bills General Manager Brandon Beane along with his wife Hayley are Adoption of a very important tradition in upstate New York. Each Buffalo Bills touchdown during a home game becomes an adoption fee paid by the couple! That's way better than six points on the board in my humble opinion.
This program was started by Stephen Hauschka, the former Bills kicker, and his wife Lindsey. Back then it was known as "Hauschpups". Since then, Hauschka and Lindsey have left Buffalo, which led Beane and his wife to take over the reins.
The program is now called "Bills Mufffia" and sponsors furry friends in the Erie County SPCA. The Beane family are huge fans of furbabies. In fact, they have two of their own - Bodie and Peanut Beane!
How it works
The adoption fee applies to dogs, cats, small animals, birds, reptiles and farm animals! Every week there are different "conscripts" to ensure that every animal in the shelter has the best chance of finding its family forever.
"I think adoption is so important because you have shelters that are only full," said Hayley Beane.
“No matter what happens at work, good day, bad day, you win 40 for nothing, lose 40 for nothing, your dogs are cheered on to see you when you come in the door and that's a cool feeling Love and care that bring them to the family, "said Brandon Beane in one Video Discussing his passion for adoption from shelters.
Via the Erie County SPCA
All animals adopted by the Erie County's SPCA undergo physical examination, vaccination, and castration for dogs, cats, rabbits, and male rats, in addition to a variety of other treatments and services.
In addition, adoptive parents can take out 30-day health insurance for their newest family member. Mothers and fathers of new furbabies can even access the behavior and training department of the SPCA online for three weeks and a free bag of food.
That's worth more than a thousand touchdowns!
